Installation view:

The viewers enter a tent, patched together from old, slightly off-white rags. In its windows, two video-portraits appear in front of an animated background – the Sudanese „Twin Sister“ (Napuli Langa) and the Iranian „Friend of Khayyam“ (Hamid Moradi). Back in 2012, when this project was first shown, their names were kept anonymous. Since then their status has changed and their identities could be revealed. Their double portrait shows the circumstances that forced them to leave their countries. It is a timeless view into the abyss, in which seemingly secure existences can suddenly be threatened.
